If you think animation is just for kids (or, that animation for adults is just the gross-out, bro-core stuff on Adult Swim) you need to get the Squidbillies off your mind and head to the ninth annual Animation Block Party at BAM and Rooftop Films this weekend. The festival, the largest on the East Coast, highlights work from pros and students alike, including work produced at Pratt Institute in Clinton Hill. The fun starts off at the Automotive High School in Williamsburg on Friday evening (with an afterparty at Matchless with free beer from Radeberger), then moves to BAM for the rest of the weekend with multiple shows each day (including a kids’ program on Saturday at noon) with a wrap party at Habana Outpost with free Six Point Ale and Habana’s famous corn. You can purchase tickets for individual shows ($12) or an all-festival pass ($40, includes entrance to a filmmaker party at BAM on Saturday night).
