Bigger Than Hip Hop

By

Political hip hop seems to have taken a backseat to pop music and “artists” rhyming about bling and moscato, but luckily a few groups haven’t given up making music that matters. Brooklyn hip hop duo Dead Prez have been brandishing their musical steez since 1996, sometimes leaning toward gangsta rap but always in true form with meaning and a message. Tonight the duo brings their act to Public Assembly where they’ll be spitting lines flavored with their leftist political views and catchy as hell hooks. If you haven’t heard the song “Hip Hop“, click the link, cause that’s just weird. Tickets are only $16 in advance, and $20 at the door.
