Pony Up for G&S

By

Admittedly, I don’t spend a lot of time watching Kickstarter videos, but this is by far the best one I’ve seen. Gemini & Scorpio, throwers of elaborate themed parties in both conventional and quirky venues, need money to refurbish their own venue for arts programming and underground parties: a gorgeous Gowanus loft, whose brick walls are crumbling and tin ceilings are gaping. In the video, you get to hear from a few fixtures in the New York arts and underground scenes, like Sari Rubenstein of Rubulad as well as tastemaker Sascha Lewis of Flavorpill and Lincoln Center arts presenter Bill Bragin–all of whom make a compelling case for supporting Gemini & Scorpio in the interest of keeping New York City weird and wonderful.

Throughout, Miss Scorpio offers a glimpse of past Gemini & Scorpio parties, and an idea of what future ones will look like if you contribute to her Kickstarter campaign. There are 16 days left, and prizes at every price point and level of curiosity. Five dollars gets you an invite to the backer party plus your name projected on the wall with other supporters; $600 buys you a rooftop movie night at the G&S loft for up to 60 friends, popcorn included. Check out all the options here.
