When bars around the borough begin unfurling their umbrellas and frosty brews beg to be sipped in the sunshine, it can only mean one thing–Immersion season is not far behind. For the past three years, Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery have lured you to neighborhoods like Red Hook, Crown Heights, and Bushwick to drink Brooklyn beer in the best bars, eat at new brunch spots, check out local shops and street art.
This year we’re kicking off our season of day-long celebrations on Saturday, June 7 between noon and 6pm with The Total South Slope Immersion. We’ve lined up our favorite watering holes and outdoor drinking spots here–Freddy’s, South, Quarter Bar and Sea Witch–plus a slew of deals at surrounding establishments. We’ve tweaked the formula a bit by ticketing the events this year, but let us assure you longtime Immersion goers– you will still be getting a steal of a deal, and you don’t have to wake up early, stand on line, and hope you get tickets for all your friends.
In exchange for your $20 up front, you’ll get a wad of “walking around money” that will “buy” you four beers, one from all the bars above, plus lunch at Freddy’s or Sea Witch so you don’t get too drunk, along with more deals at places like J’eatjet?, Supercollider, applewood, powerHouse on 8th, and Der Kommissar (see below for the full list). Because you won’t be able to hit all of these spots in one day, and after you spend time at the bars we’ve picked out for you, you’ll want to come back for another round.
There are a limited number of tickets available-–round up your friends and make an excellent day of it. And if we happen to sell out, RSVP for our Total Greenpoint Immersion on July 19–you’ll be the first to know when those tickets go on sale.
