Books Beneath the Bridge is one of the best free events in Brooklyn Bridge Park each summer. The park partners with local independent bookstores to bring authors to the Granite Prosepct steps, on the waterfront. On Monday, Freebird kicks off the 2017 series with Erica Wagner, author of Chief Engineer, a biography of Washington Roebling, the mastermind behind the Brooklyn Bridge, the East River’s loveliest crossing. It’s free and starts at 7pm, though you’d be wise to show up early for a seat.
