Celebrate Brooklyn

Whitney will play one of the last Celebrate Brooklyn shows of the season. Yes, we wish it was the other Whitney, too.

This weekend is the last hurrah before Celebrate Brooklyn! packs up the stage equipment and lighting for the season, so if you haven’t made it out to the Prospect Park bandshell enough this summer, now is definitely the time. On Friday, see a free show by Whitney, who will be joined by Moses Sumney and Weyes Blood, starting at 7pm. If you’re one of those lucky people whose workplace believes in summer Fridays and you’re looking for some time to kill before the show, you can head south to Sunset Park to knock back a few craft beers at the brand new Five Boroughs Brewing Co. brewery and tasting room, which is open from 4-11pm. And if you wake up the next day craving another outdoor concert experience, Senegalese singer Youssou N’Dour will perform in the last Celebrate Brooklyn show of the summer on Saturday night starting at 7:30pm, and it’s free.
