Dinner and a (not so new) movie

By

When I first saw Y Tu Mama Tambien, Alfonso Cuaron’s 2002 movie about two young, callow dudes who end up on a sex-fueled road trip with an older woman, I both loved the movie and could not get over how heart-stoppingly handsome this unknown new guy Gael Garcia Bernal was. Now, apparently 16 (!) years later, Bernal is a legit Hollywood veteran, and I’m probably old enough to be the Luisa character’s mom, so I’m curious what my reaction to seeing the film again would be. On Wednesday, May 2, Alamo Drafthouse is screening it as it should be seen, in a movie theater alongside a special Mexican-inspired feast with cocktail pairings. You $60 ticket gets you entrance to the screening and a four course dinner that includes ceviche, margaritas, mezcal, churros, and more. The fun starts at 6:30pm.
