Sundays in Brooklyn: Step out of your comfort zone and onto a No Pants Subway Ride or get talk therapy at Threes

By

If your New Year’s resolutions include things like taking more risk or being more spontaneous, you’ve got a great opportunity to give it a whirl this Sunday by stripping down to your skivvies and joining the 18th annual No Pants Subway Ride.  Starting at 3pm, riders will meet at various points throughout the city (the designated Brooklyn gathering place is the Old Stone House), remove their jeans, leggings, cords, what have you, and hop on the subway bound for Union Square and eventually an after party at Bar 13. It’s free to participate, and you can RSVP here. If the idea of getting half-naked in public is a little much for you, you can expose yourself in a more metaphorical fashion at Skip the Small Talk at Three’s Brewing, a regular Sunday event that encourages participants to discuss the “big” stuff, like fears, what drives happiness, and what you wish you could change in your life, with understanding, empathetic strangers. There are question prompts and structure provided to make participants feel safe and comfortable about baring their souls, and you can bring friends, although Threes claims that most people show up solo. The rewards of something like this could be invaluable, yet it’s free to attend, and it starts at 6pm.
