FORT GREENE New Queer Cinema auteur Gregg Araki once described his 1997 sex/drugs/apocalypse film Nowhere as “Beverly Hills 90210 on acid.” On Thursday night at BAMcinématek, he’ll be screening his newest film, Kaboom, which puts an unusual spin on the college sex comedy genre. The film, which premiered at midnight at Cannes and won the first-ever Queer Palm, brings Araki’s trademark mix of racy pan-sexual pairings with surreal results to a whole new level. To help resolve any unanswered questions after the film, Araki will be sticking around for a Q&A.
