As we all prepare to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of 9/11, Amy Waldman’s reading at Greenlight Bookstore on Monday is an opportunity to discuss tolerance. Her new book The Submission creates an alternate timeline after the tragedy, where the design chosen for the memorial is revealed to have been created by a Muslim-American; the resulting uproar reflects on the feelings towards Muslims in America. Waldman will be reading from the book and talking about the issues raised in it.
