Rosé season has gone out with the summer and the white whiskey craze has come to a halt, leaving cocktail enthusiasts thirsty for a new obsession-quencher. Enter the latest craze: bitters. Sparked by the rumored bitters shortage last year, the ingredient has been sought after not only by those looking for a quick cure to their hangover, but also those looking for a new way to spice up their drinking habits. Author Brad Thomas Parsons, a bitters historian, will be discussing the ingredient and NYC cocktail culture at Greenlight Bookstore with Zach Feldman, owner of Bitters, Old Men. The party begins next door at the Greene Grape Annex where from 5:30-7:30 they’ll offer up bitters and soda, followed by the discussion at Greenlight at 7:30, and at 8:30 Feldman will lead the crowd over to The Greene Grape wine shop to sample some delicious cocktails featuring everyone’s new favorite ingredient.
