Farmers’ Market Fundraiser

By

Fans of Bushwick’s ever-expanding food scene will have an opportunity to show their support at Friday’s Winter Solstice Feast 2011 fundraiser for EcoStation:NY, an organization dedicated to food and environmental justice issues at the local level that runs the Bushwick Farmers’ Market.  From 7pm to midnight, some of the neighborhood’s best restaurants, including Roberta’s and Northeast Kingdom, will be dishing out dishes to hungry revelers, who will also be treated to a whole roasted pig, Sixpoint beer, live music performances, and a silent auction with prizes from local businesses and crafters. Although the hosts have explicitly stated that no one will be turned away, the suggested donation for a ticket is a measly $20. Consider contributing more than that if you can, however, as proceeds will directly benefit worthy projects like EcoStation’s Bushwick Campus organic teaching farm at Academy of Urban Planning high school.
