Buying into Brooklyn: A Crash Course in Home Buying for First-Timers

By

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT. After a large number of you RSVP’ed to our first Buying into Brooklyn event in June, we got the message: The steps to buying a home can be intimidating, and everyone can use solid advice. So we’re bringing this real estate crash course back next week. Whether you have just begun searching for the perfect apartment, or you’re still fantasizing about a brownstone of your own, we’ll have answers to all your home-buying questions next Wednesday, August 1.

Fom 7:30-9:30 pm at Brooklyn Brewery, you’ll hear from four experts in the field–Realty Collective founder Victoria Hagman and Realty Collective agent Tina Fallon; real estate attorney and partner Michael Moshan of Gold Scollar Moshan, PLLC, and private mortgage banker Janet Younkman of Wells Fargo–who will explain what it takes to find the right home, make the right offer, get into contract, secure the right financing, and close, all without having a nervous breakdown.

These are just a few of the tips you’ll learn over Brooklyn Brewery beers and light fare from Jump Kitchen:

-Who protects you and helps you get the best deal
-What to do when you have bad or less than stellar credit
-The importance of finding the right lender
-The steps to obtaining a pre-approval and mortgage
-The offer/acceptance process

Plus, if you have a burning home-buying question you’d like answered, enter it here, and the panel will address it next Wednesday.

Tickets are $10 in advance, and at the door pending availability, and include delicious small bites by Jump Kitchen.

Will this event be recorded? All of the topics on the agenda are exactly what I’ve been wanting to know, but I unfortunately have prior obligations I can’t get out of.

Sounds familiar!  Always useful to get this info out to the public.

I really really want to come to this, but can’t. Is there any way to the info afterwards?

So maybe you could have sent an update to your newletter subscribers that you were releasing advance tickets, since that’s how most of us learned about the event.  Now only the facebookers got tickets, and I had no idea that advance tickets were even available until after they sold out.  Poor form.
