Plan Ahead: Brooklyn for Good May 15

By

Brooklyn Based’s latest event partner is the Brooklyn Community Foundation, who came to us with an intriguing idea for a monthly series called Brooklyn for Good. Each event, held at BCF’s Dumbo space, pairs two local innovators from both the public and private sector who are “in Brooklyn for Good” because they are committed to bettering the borough, and because their business or program is here for the long-term. The free series kicks off Wednesday, May 15, with Ian Marvy of Added Value/Red Hook Community Farm and St. John Frizell of Fort Defiance Cafe and Bar in Red Hook, who will share their thoughts on local food, entrepreneurship, empowerment and recovery after Superstorm Sandy. Space is limited, so RSVP in advance.
