Bushwick Open Studios, which is New York’s largest open studios event, is back this weekend, giving you the opportunity to explore the neighborhood and immerse yourself in its thriving arts community. From 11am-7pm on both Saturday and Sunday, thousands of Bushwick-based artists will be opening their doors and sharing their work with the public, for free! It’s a hands-on way to support local creatives and who knows, you might find the perfect piece you’ve been looking for to add some visual excitement to that lackluster area of your apartment. On Friday evening, Arts in Bushwick will be kicking off the weekend’s festivities with an opening party and group art show from 7-10pm at Beyond Studios NYC. Works produced in all kinds of media by over 200 individual artists will be on display, there will be a techno set by Buzzi, and beer will be provided by Braven Brewery. The event is free to attend and seems like a great way to whet your appetite for the artistic extravaganza that lies ahead.
